Bloated Capitalist
Sep. 3rd, 2005 08:15 pmI've lived in this house for eleven years now, and for the first five I was the lodger, renting a room from Jan and
scottymcleod.
As of 1st October, it'll be me who's the bloated capitalist grinding the faces of the poor*, as I'll be renting a room to
msinvisfem.
It feels a bit odd, as - joking about capitalists aside - I am not really business-oriented and find it hard and even uncomfortable to put a monetary value on things. I'm happier being a wage slave! However, after a bit of checking on local rates, it's done, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it will be tax free - I was dreading having to fill in Inland Revenue forms and stuff. There are a number of things that will have to be sorted out - such as community charge and household insurance - but hopefully it shouldn't be too painful.
* I actually had very good landlords, it's just more fun to put it this way.
