It's official then... David Tennant.

Edit: ...and the first Doctor younger than me. Have you noticed how young the policemen are becoming these days?

**urgh** I am sure he is fit for the part but he looks like he just retired from a boy band...

I hadn't seen that he was Barty Junior.

Oh, he'll be awesome as him!

(Ok, I'm a fan. But he /is/ a good actor)

Thanks for saying who he will be playing! I had thought when [livejournal.com profile] ggreig gave me a Harry Potter link that I should find out who he will be playing but got side tracked and didn't follow up the thought...

And 'YES!', from that picture he does look as though he will make a great Barty Crouch Jr. From looks alone he is able to convey (to me at least) an excellent mixture of innocence and madness! :-D

It seems rather silly of the BBC to be putting up wallpapers of him in a non-Who context already. I mean what self-respecting Who-vian would plop his face on their desktop for the next however-many-months until the next series?

Yeah but didn't Paul McGann have to earn that sort of devotion by playing as the Doctor first? (Or did I miss something when looking at the website?)

Anyway I wouldn't have thought the mere mention of being selected to play the Doctor would earn Who fan loyalty. Again, I would thought from the discriminating fan there would be a wait-and-see attitude.

OT - Are you finally happy now that you have got a two part-er with a cliff-hanger? :-P

Please go easy on me, I have killer cold... :-( **makes sure to sound extra pathetic**

He looks a lot less boy bandish in Casanova, or in the recent live Quatermass Experiment.

Odd, as I was just thinking recently that Peter Davison is looking almost old enough now to be the Doctor.

I agree - I prefer patrician character actors too. :) I always felt that Peter Davidson was far to young to play the Doctor.
