Someone has stolen my pavement and crumpled it up untidily across the other side of the road. I expect that this is the first stage in the gold-paving process.

So when did you move to London? Or has London just moved to Fife?

Since you tagged the post "humour" and your mood is "optimistic", does that mean that you're hoping we'll find it funny?

I find it funny*, and I'm optimistic that it'll actually happen.

* Well, I'm not taking it seriously, at any rate.

Is there a hole? Or have they just taken the top layer off?

Maybe they have to dig for the gold before they can pave with it.

The hole's no more than a couple of inches deep, but I think they must have been blasting because all there is at the bottom is little broken chips of rock. They're obviously serious about extracting that there precious metalling.

There gold in them there sidewalks...
