They're both cute, but I'm happier about having taken the first one. It's only when you try to photograph it that you realise how quickly that instant of mouths agape is over! It was pure luck I caught it this time, and with them all so tidily lined up too. I hadn't realised one of the parents was incoming when I pressed the button.
It's the faces in the second one that are so sweet, though: there's something utterly appealing about the configuration of the eyes and the short little beak in swallows and their relatives. They look as if they ought to be cartoon characters.
