Scottish readers will be aware that the Scottish editions of UK papers don’t always say the same thing as the versions available elsewhere. An “S” or an “Sc” in small print somewhere in the margin is often a clue.

Someone’s put together a diff of a Sun editorial that highlights some interesting differences in tone between what’s on sale north and south of the border. The Guardian seems to think it’s newsworthy, though I shouldn't imagine it's news to many.

The Sun is evil. This has been well known for years.

It’s clear that The Sun in England speaks to a Tory-voting readership, whereas The Scottish Sun doesn’t. I don’t think the surprise is that they have different tones of editorial, but rather that they use different versions of the same editorial.

I’d rather assumed that they wrote entirely different editorials and comment pieces for the two versions of the paper.
